The Malibu Wallpaper design is inspired by tropical leaves that began to appear on wallpaper and textiles in France in the 1700s. Like foreign fruits, birds with all new patterns and colors were arriving, inspiring artists and designers from all over the world. Many of these new species were from tropical environments and were apparently exotic to French society. The DU&KA Design Team selected delicate fan trees and ferns. However, since we wanted this design to be more modern, we stripped the color and decorated it with golds and silvers for a more elegant and versatile wallpaper design.
